I've been reading a lot of posts on minimalism and editing wardrobes. There are so many ways to define minimalism, but I love this definition:
As a fashion blogger, it's tempting to try out and follow the latest trends for the sake of the blog. I'd rather acknowledge the trends I like, and only wear the ones that work for me.
Creating a minimalist wardrobe is the perfect way to do that! How, you ask?
Be clear on why you want to do it.
Are you low-key becoming a hoarder and need to get your life together? Do you feel some sort of anxiety looking in your closet while getting dressed, because you think you have "nothing to wear"? Whatever the reason, just don't do it cuz it's "on trend" right now.
Plan the purge.
Are you going to dump everything in one session? Are you going to slowly phase out items (like I did)? If you're not prepared to immediately replace certain items, the latter would be best.
You know that hand full of items you always reach for? That's probably the starting point to figuring out your style and how you can upgrade it or go in a different direction altogether.
I'm already starting to edit out certain styles, trends, and colors (check out this post), I'm replacing them with items I truly love, and that fit my current lifestyle. What do think of minimalism and editing your wardrobe? Are you willing to try it or have you already?
